London vs. Paris
If you are in London, strolling along the riverside of Thames, you see it all at once. It's dark, but there are millions of lights reflecting on the river. You see all the people, walking their high paced walk, going somewhere really cool you probably dream of going yourself. You see the luxurious apartments and wonder if someday you'll be able to live in one. You see these skyscrapers and think what kind of work the people in there do. And there is so much to take in if you really start to think about it. London embodies something so young, so big, so cool, so fast paced, so vibrant and so colorful.
When I was living in Paris, walking along the river Seine made me feel completely different emotions. It felt like I was in no rush at all. You can easily see the joie de vivre (joy of living) in people's eyes when they waltz past you with a freaking baguette under their arm. No wonder everybody's happy all the time when they take things slowly and eat their body weight in cheese every once in a while whilst not gaining any weight themselves. Paris is chic. There is no doubt about it. I like to think of her like the 30-something aunt you'd love to have, who always says things like "The prettiest dresses are worn to be taken off" and who looks like the reincarnation of Audrey Hepburn.
Despite all the chaos, do I still enjoy London? Of course I do. It is different and it's so hard to make it in the crazy competition, but it is so much fun.
About what I'm wearing, though:
This recently purchased Topshop camel coat is probably going to be an all time fave quite quickly. It has a detachable faux fur collar, which is great, because I wouldn't really want to wear it during Spring. This gorgeous velvet bag is also a recent addition to my wardrobe. It does look really small, but it actually fits everything I normally need, so all good! This is my first velvet item this season and to be honest, I'm surprised that I didn't get anything from this material sooner. I hope that the trend doesn't vanish in a second, because I feel like I just want to wrap myself in all velvet everything. I actually felt very powerful in this outfit, which I didn't expect, because it felt quite girly and playful. But I guess that the pointed black heels come in play here!
