Visiting the Glossier studio was at the top of my New York bucket list, because I had fallen in love with the idea behind this brand since they launched four years ago. I like that their products make me look like myself - just a bit more dewier and glossier - and that is why they're great for daily use. It's all about making you feel good about yourself instead of pointing out every little flaw that you should be covering up.
The in-store experience was super nice and the studio was stunning. I really loved the minimalist approach and that you could actually use all of the products that were on display. But most importantly, it was so refreshing after venturing in the flaming hot city in 37 degree weather. I have to say that the combination of air conditioning and their rosewater spray hitting my face was like angels kissing me.
I have used all of the products that I bought for around a month now and my favorites are definitely the Glossier You perfume and their Birthday Balm Dotcom. I have never got as many compliments about a perfume before and another plus is that the smell will always remind me of our trip to New York. The Birthday Balm is absolutely the best lip balm I have ever used, because it stays on for hours even after eating. Did not know that this was possible. Also, it sparkles, smells like cake, and makes people want to kiss you, so who really needs more than that in life?
I had very high hopes for Boy Brow, but it isn't as intense as I would have liked it to be. Probably because my brows are very light and just need a bit more definition. However, I now always use a brow pencil and go over them with Boy Brow, because it gives them such a nice texture and makes them look more natural. I have been quite suspicious of cream blushes, because I always thought that they would be way too intense for me, but after a couple of uses, Cloud Paint (in Beam) has started to grow on me. Sometimes after putting on the Birthday Balm, I like to dab my finger with the leftover blush on my lips to have a bit of color on them as well.
The Stretch Concealer has also not failed to impress - it's SO creamy and luckily I chose the right color for me. Great for using underneath the eyes, because it covers my little darker blood vessels whenever they decide to show themselves. And last but not least, there's the infamous Milky Jelly Cleanser. It's a very strange texture, unlike any cleanser I've had before, and at first, I wasn't a fan of the fact that it was almost invisible on my face (it made it a bit difficult to wash off properly). But now I'm used to it and I love it a lot. I haven't had any breakouts since using it and I like that it doesn't leave you feeling completely squeaky clean. You definitely still feel hydrated and very smooth.
What is the extra cherry on the cake, is the stunning packaging and attention to detail. For example, when you enter the studio, you get a little checklist of the products with their prices and you can simply check the little boxes in front of products that you would like to get. Next time, I would love to get Lash Slick, Generation G and Haloscope. Don't know why on Earth didn't I get them in the first place! I got to admit that I still have some of the packaging in my drawers because it's just so beautiful!
When I gave one of the Glossier ladies my checklist and paid, I simply had to wait for 5 minutes and got my neatly packaged order with a personalized post card and some cute stickers. It was 100% the best shopping experience I have ever had and their marketing is simply genius - whatever their CEO Emily Weiss is making, she deserves it. The brand has a cult following, high-quality products, their iconic pink pouches are photographed in almost every possible situation you can think of and the company is expanding fast, so fingers crossed that they would soon ship to Estonia as well. The fact that so many of the women in the store we're bonding over the ideas behind the brand, shows that Glossier has done something very right.
